Karridale {Visiting & Working}

Now it wouldn't really be a new year on the road without a trip to Karridale, would it?  Of course not!

We did our usual eat, drink, sleep, swim, chat and explore.  This time we did mix it up with some wire lifting in the vineyard and J also did some work around the farm, helping out with netting and some fencing.

Pictures say it all....

Once last time this year - Manjimup {Work}

The plan for this return trip was for Justin to finish some work on the house, build some sheds and give a hand if needed.

We had a fabulous time, doing sheep work and watching Ben & Jim doing some shearing. The kids got to ride the motor bike & get crazy rides on the ride on mower {I think Jim had more fun than Kaleb & Kyla}. We had yard work with cattle, feeding them terrible smelling silage & seeing how docile big bulls really can be. A trip to the lease block for a look at the spud plantation & even better a cooling swim in the dam, followed by a picnic lunch.

There was also wrapping of presents, putting up the Christmas Tree {our first while in the camper & traveling} and also preparing for Christmas.

{Christmas & Boxing Day posts to follow}.

All in all our combined time in Manjimup has been wonderful.  Getting to know new friends {and their extended families}, working, creating, learning & experiencing.

Majimup Again {Work}

After our relaxing week in Peaceful Bay it was time to head back to Manjimup for more work before our trip to Perth.

It really is a lovely little spot to park up here on the Dorrell Farm.  Lovely location, lovely company and interesting weather.  Interesting weather in that this time we have had rain, hail, electrical storm, thunder storm and days of over 40 degress.  Makes for an fun time in a camper trailer :)

I love the history that the farm has.  The old shearing shed, which was originally the dairy {if only walls could talk}

Justin has been working hard to get things finished before we head up to Perth for flying trip for Missy Higgins.  Then you guessed it back to Manjimup as Justin needs to replace the pump shed {I forgot to mention we had power poles fall down, start fires and destroy sheds}

The Farm - Manjimup {Work}

Here we are at Jim's farm in Manjimup.

We had meet Jim {several times actually} when at Winning Station, he is their neighbor from Mia Mia.  After a phone call here we are for Justin to do some work for them.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to set up the camper, a better place to explore, a better place to do a  little school work & a better place for me to get creative and do some sewing. The kids have had a fabulous time watching working with cattle {and seeing some very new calves}, cutting seed potatoes, playing with other children, seeing sheep with their lambs and getting to know our hosts.

We have now packed up & are heading further south to Peaceful Bay for a wonderful wedding {and a catch up with lots of our friends}
