Peaceful Bay {Lawn Squatting}

After all this time you would think we would have some idea on when public holidays are in WA?  Apparently NOT! We planned to leave Windy on Friday and had it not been for a wonderful woman there asking me, we would have forgotten it was a public holiday and been stuck no doubt as we planned to do some free camping after leaving.

Thankfully after a quick, cheeky SMS to a friend we landed a lovely spot on the front lawn of his holiday house in Peaceful Bay.  It was peaceful when we arrived just after lunch but by 8pm all of the surrounding houses {alright most} had people and there where cars everywhere.  The caravan park was PACKED.

It worked well for us, we had power, a shady spot and got to do some real exploring that we missed out on doing in November {because we spent so much time eating, talking & drinking}.

We went down the the river mouth a few times, took a drive though Denmark looking at a few different spots and much to J's pleasure we even did some 4WDing in Peaceful Bay {although it didn't go so well to start when we discovered our wonderful tyre gauge was lying about our pressure, cue embarrassed husband when he got stuck and caused a traffic jam}.

Everyone cleared out on the Monday so we got to spend a day in a truly peaceful Peaceful Bay before we packed up and headed to our next spot, a real free camp.

Peaceful Bay {Holiday}

Bet you think that I am loopy having 'Holiday' in the title but that is exactly what this last week was!  A fabulous holiday with wonderful friends.  Too little sleep, too much food and way too much to drink {well and probably too much sun on one of the days too}.

We stayed at Peaceful Bay Caravan Park, the only one in town, made the choice easy.  Not somewhere I would stay given a choice given it's facilities {or lack there of as the case may be} but the location was perfect.  Was an easy walk to visit our friends and an even easier walk to the beach.

We had a duck pond right near our camp

We even got a visit from a frog {he took residence overnight}

Enjoying a ride around the caravan park

A walk around the 'town'

After a drive to Walpole we stopped at the Giant Tingle Tree to take a look

A trip to the park in Denmark with friends

Even better was the trip to the Chocolate Factory
Of course a picture of the shoes purchased in Denmark

 The Toffee Factory provided us with a laugh on the way into their carpark

A funny bus ride into Denmark for the Wedding

And this is why it is called Peaceful Bay

Our final day meant lunch at a Brewery/Winery in Denmark with the Newly Weds

The week consisted off catching up with friends, a purchase of new shoes {Denmark}, visit to the Chocolate & also Toffee factory{Denmark}, a trip to the Bird Park {Denmark}, drive to Walpole, seeing amazingly large trees {Walpole}, Tree Top Walk {Walpole}, a winery visit {Denmark}, a trip to the beach {Peaceful Bay} and most importantly a wedding {Denmark}.

Tree Top Walk - Walpole

Somone was a little scared being that high up and seeing through the floor

The holiday is now over and back to Manjimup for some work we go, before a quick concert trip to Perth
