Perth {Home}

Hard to believe that it has been more than a month since we last visited Perth.  We had a busy week planned with visits with SIDE, J working for a few days, a little shopping and a party planned for Kyla's birthday {early but it means she could celebrate with all her friends}.

Driving up, heading to my folks place was very confronting, surreal and harder to see than I expected.  The smell at Dad's place was so strong and in your face, I wasn't expecting that at all! Our first afternoon there there was a mass off White Tailed Cockatoos which was just amazing to see.  They spent the afternoon hanging out at the horse trough which Dad continues to fill, even though Mary is having a green paddock holiday in the southwest.

We hit the ground running with Kaleb going to work with J and Kyla heading with me to SIDE to have a meeting with her teacher.  I have been very conflicted when it comes to us continuing our current lifestyle and the impact it is/isn't having on the kids schooling. Actually if I have been honest I have been conflicted on many aspects, this just happens to be the biggest 'issue' in my mind.

After our meeting with Kyla's new teacher {both kids got new teachers this year}, I am feeling 200% more confident that we can get her to where she needs to be and am thankful she took the time to listen to me and to assess Kyla. It is true what they say 'it is the teachers that make the school', before this term I saw SIDE as a means to an end in terms of it allowing us to live our current lifestyle.  I know realise that with the right teachers, I can get the support that both myself and the kids need.  AMAZING!

Friday and Saturday to be honest are a little bit of a blur.  We visited ALOT of people and managed to get a heap of other things done.  There is always something we need to do when we are in the 'city'.

Sunday we had a slow start to the morning preparing everything ready for Kyla's party in the afternoon.  We went to the fabulous park in Woodbridge again to celebrate her birthday {I know a whole month early}.  She thankfully didn't want an ice-cream cake like Kaleb but I did take the cheats way out again and we brought her a heap of lovely, amazing and sugar filled cupcakes.

We all had a wonderful afternoon catching up with everyone.  Kyla was most impressed she got to share the celebrations with her little friend, Xavia,  who had her birthday on Saturday.

Monday was packing day and then Tuesday morning we woke the small people up and it was time to head to the airport for our much needed R&R holiday {I know I know, the majority of people believe we are on a holiday already}

Happy 8th Birthday Kaleb {Home}

2014 is here!

I had thought I might wake up and it would still be 2013, but no it is most certainly 2014 and my first born is EIGHT.  That just seems so much older than seven for some reason, no idea why?

Kaleb is the most amazing little boy I know.  He knows what he wants and most of the time how to go about it.  I've enjoyed watching him learn and grown this past year that we have spent traveling and I know that he loved being able to celebrate his birthday with close friends & family.

Can't wait to see what 8 brings to him.

5th Birthday {Celebration}

Who is this little girl that is five?
And what happened to my baby girl?

It really does feel like only yesterday in someway that we welcomed our not so wee girl into the world.  She was such a hurry at one point I was sure would be born in the car and I am sure my friend I happened to be chatting to during labour was sure she would be born at home on the couch while I was talking to her.

Her last picture as a four year old.

But she is most certainly her own person, she is most certainly still my little girl but she is well and truly now FIVE too!  She continues to amaze me everyday with the things she comes out with, she has her own little personality & most certainly her own unique style {which includes hating doing her hair regularly}.  She one of a kind and I wouldn't have her any other way.

We had a lovely day celebrating and even better for her with all of the phone calls she took during 'school time'.  A day spent together relaxing, then wandering around the Museum of WA here in Kalgoorlie, some fairy bread & watermelon with friends and of course cake.

Start the day later than normal {she slept in go figure} with presents from us & Nan/Grayza/Aunty Ali & co

Happy Birthday time
{with Alissa, Hannah & Emily}

She had a wonderful afternoon with the girls playing at our place and then followed up with a play at the park.  Once they all left we set to work cooking her requested dinner of hamburgers of which she only ate half.  It was a lovely way to spend her first day as a 5 year old.

Next birthday for us will be J in August.

7th Birthday {Celebration}

I can't believe that my baby, my first born is now SEVEN years old.

How did he get to seven so fast, I am sure that only yesterday he was the not so small baby that made his loud entrance into this world.  Only yesterday that he changed our world so quickly & so wonderfully.

He has changed, grown and learnt so much in such a short space of time and he is really no longer my baby boy but just my first born son. A boy, a growing boy and a front toothless boy.

First picture as a seven year old

Thanks to some people I will not mention he was after a motorbike for his birthday.  He lucked out and got a motorbike cake instead :)  He was pretty chuffed with the effort {and I was pretty happy to have a kitchen at my disposal to make it for him}

We had a stop at the Dorrel lease block on our way out of town to blow out the candles with Ben & his friend before heading off
