Onslow {Working}

Hard to believe that this will be our last working spot up this way for the year.  Time really has flown by and it is a great spot to 'end' the season being it is a beautiful old house, even if the town is every so little.

We arrived in Onslow and set up out the back of the house that J would be doing some work on.  The plan was that it would take two weeks, including a little get away further north to catch up with friends that had just moved there.

While J hit the ground running the smalls and I plugged away with school work, explored the beach, the park and even had a wander around the museum that is attached to the tourist information centre. It is really a small town with lots of wonderful history and I find it sad that it will get lost along the way with all of the greedy people who are after the 'gas'.

{This post is more than a little slack, the pictures aren't in order but you can see what we got up to :)}

I will admit, down here at the very bottom of this post that staying in an old house {that might I had had been done up very nicely} does have me missing having a house.  A house with history, a house with a story and a house that is looking for some love.

Karratha {Visiting}

It was a flying trip, that was certainly not long enough {and meant we didn't catch up with everyone that we wanted} but I am glad that we made the time.

Good friends have just moved to Karratha from Perth.  A massive move considering that they are expecting their first wee bubba in early November.

We had a great time relaxing, chatting, eating, drinking, playing board games and generally just being.

The Facts

Here goes...

After leaving on the 4th April 2013, as of today we have been traveling for 17 months. We have yet to leave our home state of WA at all in that time!

We have traveled I suspect almost 50,000km {I lost our starting ODM reading}
We have stayed in 75 different locations,

Wyloo Station {Work}

Another new station for this year and our last station too.

We called in here last year and the homestead is a lovely building at the bottom of a lovely hill/mountain/range {whatever you would like to call it}. So the main plan for Justin was to put up a patio and also pull down/move a massive shed.  He ended up doing a few other things, like extending a room, putting in a window, fixing shower problems and gutting a donga.
Time was flashing past but that is more than likely because the smalls did school and then played with the two small boys.  There was also the consideration of all the toys that the boys had {cars, trucks and a bouncing castle}.

 
We had a lovely picnic for Justin’s Birthday on the Ashburton River.  It was a lovely day with everyone fishing, eating, drink and exploring an old homestead site from the 1800’s.  They really did like building things in the middle of nowhere!

Before long the massive shed was up, it was christened and it was time for us to packdown and move over to Onslow to do a little more work for the Wyloo mob.
