Education on the road

I always thought that it would be easy to work this out, that the answer was obvious, apparently I was very VERY wrong.

Given we are in Western Australia we have access to the education department area known as S.I.D.E {School of Isolated & Distance Education}. For WA residence that are planning to travel for more than 6 months you are more than likely eligible and it is $270 for the year {considerably less than most other states} BUT you are expected to return the work packages every 2-4 weeks and obviously this means you need to have done the work & be somewhere to send it and receive the next lot of work. I really am starting to this that there are way to many time restraints involved in this one and that it might be 'too much work' whilst on the road.

So where does that leave us, home schooling but the lack of structure does worry me but guess I need to look into this a little more and see exactly what is involved.

That said I think that their are plenty of online services that can help us, here are a few that we have found:
* Mathletics
{which my son currently uses though his primary school}. The annual license for this is $99 per year and gets cheaper the more children you have involved.
* Reading Eggs is a brilliant program.The online subscriptions for this start at $79.95 for 12 months for one child. To compliment this program there is also package icluding books, flash cards & activity books covering both level 1 & level 2.

Off to do more reading, see what else I am fill my head with to confuse me and scare me more....
