Education on the road
I always thought that it would be easy to work this out, that the answer was obvious, apparently I was very VERY wrong.
Given we are in Western Australia we have access to the education department area known as S.I.D.E {School of Isolated & Distance Education}. For WA residence that are planning to travel for more than 6 months you are more than likely eligible and it is $270 for the year {considerably less than most other states} BUT you are expected to return the work packages every 2-4 weeks and obviously this means you need to have done the work & be somewhere to send it and receive the next lot of work. I really am starting to this that there are way to many time restraints involved in this one and that it might be 'too much work' whilst on the road.
So where does that leave us, home schooling but the lack of structure does worry me but guess I need to look into this a little more and see exactly what is involved.
That said I think that their are plenty of online services that can help us, here are a few that we have found:
* Mathletics {which my son currently uses though his primary school}. The annual license for this is $99 per year and gets cheaper the more children you have involved.

* Reading Eggs is a brilliant program. The online subscriptions for this start at $79.95 for 12 months for one child. To compliment this program there is also package icluding books, flash cards & activity books covering both level 1 & level 2.
Off to do more reading, see what else I am fill my head with to confuse me and scare me more....

Mundaring Weir
An afternoon away from the house for yet another home open & we found ourselves at Mundaring Weir.
It has been years since I have been here & it was a first for the small people. Was a lovely afternoon stroll & a hit back to reality of just how little water we currently have in reserves here in Western Australia

The order has been places
.... for the camper trailer.
After much research, reading and looking we have paid a small deposit and are now on the waiting list. We then have to pay 30% for them to start production of the camper and the rest before they ship it to us over here in sunny WA.
We have decided to get this model from complete campsites.
http://www.completecampsite.com.au/soft-floor-uluru.html
In the XT model. Has plenty of built in storage, a good functioning kitchen & a pantry of sorts. Comes with a fridge {which we will use as a freezer only} and well everything else. We are going to add a full annex for the kitchen area. Also getting thermal blanket to help with keeping the camper cooler/warmer.
Now just to sell the bloody house!

Easter road trip
to the beautiful Shark Bay, Western Australia.
We started planning this before we put the house on the market & it was a much anticipated camping trip with great friends of ours. We left bright and early {think 5am} so that we arrived at a decent time to set up given there would be four small people between us.
It was a lovely weather, in a beautiful locations with great company. The only thing a person could ask for to make it perfect was a little more shade {and a lot less flies}
A stop in Dongora to break up the trip home
