Yanrey Station {Work}

We really seem to have been station hopping the last few months and to be honest we are loving every minute of it.  We had a fabulous two weeks {well close enough too} on the front lawn at Yanrey Station. The day we arrived we got to see the crew bring in a mob of cattle, was amazing to watching the Gyro in action {even if we did all leave covered in head to toe dust & stinging of cattle}

Seeing how things are done when they muster, watching yard work, helping out and hanging out with some lovely people from all over the world.  Even better the kids have been almost permanently entertained, which has been great considering school holidays.  They have had a great time asking questions of Burt from South Africa, Marieke & Trienke from Holand, Collum from Ireland, Blair & Jim from good old WA and of course Cob, the man of the house.  So many people came and went in the two weeks we stayed, at times it really did feel like a hostel.

Was an interesting afternoon when we had a visit from two crazy cows trying to get back to their weaners.  They had a great feed on the green grass, trying to get onto the verandah and walking around like they owned the places.

We came over to do up the bathrooms in the cottage and quarters {or rather for Justin to do them up}. The bathrooms that Justin worked on now look 200% better than when we arrived, just need to hop that the crew keep them that way {I am not overly hopeful on that one}.

We have no really 'been' anywhere during out stay here {except for another fabulous weekend in Karratha before we left} but we have seen plenty of what happens, looked around the history of a station that celebrated 100 years in 2011 and I've cooked plenty for a large number of people.

Justin would stay here indefinitely if it was up to him but we came back from Karratha for a night before packing up to move back down to Winning, for yet another bathroom.
