Can't drive past without stopping in and of course it gave me a chance to catch up with Nana & Pop for a few days before we disappeared {and they returned back down south}.
It was lovely to catch up with everyone, Justin took some measurements but really we didn't do much at all. Well I reviewed some family history in the form of hand written recipes, all in preparation for my sisters 30th Birthday present.

Mardathuna Station {Visiting}
Heading north again we finally found the time {or rather made the time} to stop in a see our lovely friend at Mardathuna Station. We have constantly been in trouble for not coming in to say hello and it also meant we could pop to Hill Springs for a look {given they asked at WBJ if J would be able to do some work for them this year}.
It was nice to visit somewhere new, to have no real plans and to just be for a couple of days.
We had a great time driving around and looking at a new place. There is even an old out camp that over looks the back side of the Kennedy Ranges. It is amazing, when I think about it the number of things we see that so few people get to see, get to experience.
I even managed to finally get a picture of a Wedgetail Eagle, even better it has an amazing sunset in the background.
I had to include this last picture, it is of an old Kero Fridge. Much bigger than any I have seen in our travels

Wooramel Station {Working}
I will admit it, right here, where it will stay at the top for a short while {at least}, I have been terribly slack updating the blog and I am actually playing catch up on New Years Even.
So whilst the date is when we left Wooramel, the entry is in fact, six months late!
Right enough of my admissions, now to remember what we did.

It was a lovely relaxing last week of the school holidays, a great chance to recover from the weekend at WBJ. I read, looked over family history, planned our weekend away in August, planned a trip to Perth in September {for me}, ate too much, drank too much and enjoyed trying out the spas.
Justin worked hard to get the decking done around the lovely artisan spas and also the pool fence.
We finished up on our last night with a lovely camp fire by the river.
I should add that all of the work that we have done here has been to set up a Caravan Park on the banks of the Wooramel River {it only opened this year}. It is a truly magical location, with plenty of sites for tents/campers/caravans and Rachel has done a magnificent job with the on site tents. All of the fittings inside have been made with items she has collected off the station and having slept in them before they are amazingly comfortable. I would definitely recommend you pop in for a stay and an explore.

Winning Bush Gymkarna {Event}
We are back for a fun filled weekend again, it was almost like we had never left.
Friday was preparing everything at the grounds ready for what was sure to be a full on few days. The afternoon came and our handful of children turned into more children than adults, they really do come out of nowhere sometimes, I'm sure of it! With the children feed, wash and in bed the adults headed to the shed for a few drinks. It was nice to finally relax and catch up after the crazy week that had been.
I called it an early night, well it was before midnight at least, ready for a long and crazy Saturday.
Kaleb was awake before the sun even rose, he was that excited about riding in the motorbike events. A big pot of porridge for all and it was time to head over, get covered in dust and watch Kaleb ride his little heart out! And that he most certainly did.
Kyla had a great time watching everything that was taking place, helping hand out ribbons to the winners and playing with all the other children. I don't think I saw her for the majority of the weekend, same goes for Kaleb once he had finished his races.
The kids party came and went without a hitch. We had just enough food and balloons, I swear I've not seen so many children in one places in years. Not since the kid's went to school! Thankfully with little real effort the kids all had a fabulous time, listening to music, playing with gloop, play dough and even having a game of pass the parcel.
Sunday made way for the horses, sadly no pictures as I left my camera behind but it was a great watch again. Though I will admit that I talked way more than I watched. Horses finished up and it was time for presentations. Sadly, I again didn't get pictures as I was helping behind the scenes but Kaleb really did clean up!
For a boy who had only learn to ride a two wheel bike two months early, had only had his own for a week and had very little practice of the actual events he did so well. I was very proud of him, we all were. He was actually awarded 'Sub-Junior Champion'
Children to bed again, night by the fire and it was time to say goodbye to another day.
Monday was a slow start, packing the camper and then cleaning up the shed before saying our goodbyes to new friends and old before heading back to Wooramel.

Lyndon Station {Working}
We stopped at Towera to help with the busy bee for Winning Bush Gymkarnon our way. It was lovely to catch up with those that we had yet to see since we arrived in the area, even if I did get covered in red dust while doing so.
Next stop was Lyndon and to say that the kids were excited was an understatement. We pulled in, the smalls disappeared and we set about setting up in our normal spot. Cath & Sean had some friends stopping in for a visit so we rushed around, packed a picnic and headed to the lake for a picnic.
This was a spot we hadn't been on Lyndon before and to say that it was amazing is an understatement. It was breathtaking and I can't wait to head back for yet another sunset, hopefully seeing it a little earlier this time.
A fire, singing, exploring, running around, chatting and some food made for a perfect evening. With tired children we all packed up cars and headed home. J made breakfast for us all in the morning, pancakes and we had a relaxing morning hanging out with everyone. Em & I made up a massive number of sandwiches and it was off for another picnic.
Another day, another picnic and another new location. We headed to a dam, which had wetlands surrounding it. It was a beautiful spot to explore, lay down a picnic blanket, read a book and let the children get covered from head to toe in MUD!
I got so many wonderful pictures over the last two days, it was really hard to cull them down and the cute adorable Saphie managed to shine in front of the camera. Darn that small person is cute.
Sunday passed and it was time to head back to school for our last week of term. Finalising everything, finishing what was left and waiting till Friday arrived before we take a much needed two weeks off.
With Winning just around the corner it was time to start getting the Lyndon small people ready for their events. Kaleb was in heaven as Sean had recently brought a '50' motorbike. So we had afternoons of bike riding and horse riding, perfect for making all the children tired. They really did have a wonderful time.
All of this was happening while J was working through his list of jobs and also finding time to source a motorbike for Kaleb. After all this time I finally lost out and we, through much begging and calling in of favours we got a bike picked up from one place, delivered to two others before coming up on a ute to the station. We even managed to get a helmet!
How could I forget Lyndon had a new addition of an adorable puppy dog and a handful of calves up in the yard. Everywhere you look new life, beautiful.
Mad preparations for the children's party at Winning followed for the next few days and I don't even remember picking up my camera. Before we knew it, Friday had arrived again and it was time to pack down for our weekend of excitement.
Winning here we come!
