Well our second lot of work has arrived from SIDE and might I say that the number of boxes was significantly small this time... There was only ONE!
They kids are slowly getting used to the work that is involved, although this last week we have been a little lapsed with preparing to leave and all of the last minute running around that comes with that {not to mention a birthday in that lot too}. Kaleb is getting used to the school work needs to be done and the quicker you get it done {with no complaining} the quicker we can get other things done, while Kyla is starting to stop the 'I can't' before she has even started.
Slow & Steady wins the race I believe?
So we've made popcorn and stuffed potatoes {which they loved making & eating}
They have worked together 'making pizza', in other words they discovered reading eggs was for more than just learning/reading
Kyla finally did something, first time without just saying she can't. I am mighty impressed with her number tracing skills, now to further that
Kaleb had his first online class with the rest of this 'class'. He really enjoyed it and Kyla enjoyed it more as she got to play with the ipad
Our new work set is about insects & bugs, which was great as I had found these little solar bugs and the smalls had been itching to actually get to use them
We started doing some Easter decorating
And then slacked off.....

Happy 4th Birthday
To my baby.
It really is hard to believe that Kyla is four, that it has been four years since she raced into this world and finished our family. Since she made her place known from the moment she arrive and she still does continue to let you know that she is here.
FOUR.
Her last picture as a 3 year old xx
She had a fabulous day, slacking off school work. We had presents in the morning {which she loved}, then a play at the park with friends. Home for lunch and a nap, then an afternoon with her cousins.
Kyla meets Fern & Fern meets her seat on Kyla's new bike. I ordered Fern a little over a week before I needed her {yes I know I left it till the last minute} but she arrived with time to spare from a wonderful woman I found on Etsy, whom is based in the UK. Fern is lovely, made perfectly and her little items of clothing are so cute.
A lovely sunny morning at the park. Baby chinos and donuts are a great way to start the celebrations. Oh and the play with friends while I chatted/gossiped.
Local park for fish & chips and a play with cousins, followed by the worst cake I have EVER made {and yes I did just admit to that one, that is how bad it was - although all of the children at it without complaint so that is something}.
A great way to spend her last birthday in Perth, well for a while... At least that is the plan!

The end is near
It is hard to believe after all of this time that we are almost there. Almost at the end of our stay at my parents place, Almost at the end of my work contract & almost ready to get on the road.
We had a get together on the weekend with close friends. A chance to have a chat, share some food, a drink & also to let them see inside our new home. Let's just say that everyone was impressed on all counts, especially with our new home.
Now to work our where to first, exactly!
We know that we are heading south but sadly I think that the smalls & I will take off first as J has to finish a renovation he has started {later than planned}. So maybe I will go and spend sometimes in wonderful Yallingup with my grandparents. I know that they would love to have us?

Old Design
A customer recently asked me for a 'scoop' necked dress out of the lovely Echino prints that I have had deliveryed recently.
I wanted to make it from the green perch I have left over, but alas not enough left. So rather than doing it with a new print I decided to use the left overs from our bedspread.
All I can say is wonderful! It looks amazing, this style really does work made from linen and I love this print... Not so sure I can keep it for myself, might be a little too matching.
What do you think?

Dreads
Are coming along nicely. They really do feel like they have always been there and are starting to look like it too.
Just a few pictures so I can look back on where they started & where they eventually will end up.

Making a 'Home'
One thing I have said from the beginning of our journey is, even if we don't have a house I want to make whatever space we have feel like a home.
Hence the not so practical red kettle I insisted I had to buy to take with us, a dinner set that is nice to eat off but also practical and a few other bits that make it ours.
I also decided that we needed to have our own space within the 'bedroom' so the smalls got new bedspreads last week & the fabric for our finally arrived. Something that I like and also the husband type person likes & can 'sleep in' too.
And now I have left over fabric that I get to play with. Am thinking a headband or two for myself but not sure I can make anything else for myself without looking a little odd when people come to visit.

First Lesson in our new Home
We have moved into the camper {finally}, even if it is just at my parents house.
So new space with a learning corner set up for the smalls.
They are in love with the new space.

Fabric Delivery
And I am in linen paradise.
Echino really do have such amazing designs, great quality fabric & the ability to make me want to get behind my machines and start creating.
Creating something for me, well for the smalls.
And a custom order for a very patient customer {and I am totally in love with how this print has worked with this dress design}
Now to wait not so patiently for the fabric to arrive for the bedspread for our bed.

Head of change
The weekend has been & gone {again} and we are now in a new month.
This month is when we finally hit the road, when we move into the camper {at my parents} and the month I have a new hair do.
Before:
Morning of the new do:
Part the way there:
7.5 hours later and we are finished {WOW what a massive day, I was buggered and I actually did nothing}:
The new do:
Kathy from Locked Up Dreadlocks did an amazing job & if you are thinking about it I suggest you get in touch with her. Wonderful woman & her price is great for the work that she does.
