After what
felt like forever and a stop at a full park, we managed to find one reasonable
close to town on the lake that had space for all of us. Now actually pulling into our new spot was
far from quick or easy but after unhitching and manually pushing the camper
into place we made hast and set up.
Thankfully it was close to the amenities block, the pool and a small play ground for the smalls which kept them happy. That first after past in a flurry of unpacking, washing, swimming and before we knew it was dinner time & bed.

We spent the
next few days generally relaxing but also taking sometime to explore what there
was around and of course buying some much needed pluggers for Kyla. We went for a drive out in the Ord Irrigation
area, looked at rock galleries, the old crossing {which sadly was closed}, had
coffee/cake, went to the supermarket {very exciting to get fruit if you ask my
children}, went to the sandalwood factory and another rock gallery.
To do something different we all headed up to Lake Argyle for a sunset cruise, which considering all that the children had seen/done in the past week or more they handled very well. It was a really interesting trip about how the lake was made, what wildlife lived on the islands {which are hard to even picture as big mountain rangers} and then stopped for snacks, wine and some crazy people even went swimming.
It was a lovely afternoon/evening and I came 7km away from the border of WA/NT and still never left this wonderful home state of mine…. Maybe later in the year?
All too soon and without having seen one salt water croc it was time to make tracks and head to the Bungle Bungles.
